The Review of Public Administration recommended that responsibility for supporting the delivery of events in Northern Ireland should transfer to the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB).  The Department for Culture, Arts & Leisure has worked closely with the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment and the NITB to implement the recommendation to transfer functions formerly undertaken by the Northern Ireland Events Company to the NITB.

The Northern Ireland Executive approved the transfer on 11^th March 2010.  The transfer will take affect on 1^st April 2010.
