Northern Ireland Drama Production Conference

On 19 September 2006, senior representatives from the world of television met in Belfast to examine television drama production in Northern Ireland.

The conference, entitled 'Shifting Brilliances' sought to address the current strengths and weaknesses of television drama production in Northern Ireland and what needs to be done to improve both the volume and quality of production.

In the months prior to the conference the Secretary of State, Peter Hain MP, held a series of meetings with senior representatives of all the major United Kingdom broadcasters to explore how to raise the level of television drama being produced early in 2007.
