Minister McCausland has hosted a number of receptions to recognise the exceptional sporting achievements of individuals and teams.  

Following are details of the receptions which the Minister has hosted in recent months.

The Northern Ireland 2009 World Police and GamesTeam

27 July 2009

The 2009 World Dwarf Games which were held in Belfast.

10 August 2009

Jockey Anthony P McCoy to acknowledge his exceptional achievement of over  3,000 National Hunt wins.

26 October 2009

Joint reception with the DOE Minister for Colin  Turkington, British Touring Car  Champion, 'Go Motorsport' Ambassador and Champion for road safety.

12 January 2010

The NI Olympic Skeet Shooting Team to mark their achievements in winning the 2009 Home International Tournament.

28 January 2010

Sports Minister Nelson McCausland hosted a reception at Stormont  to congratulate Northern Ireland’s sportsmen and women who have excelled in their sport and achieved victory at National and International class during 2009.

These athletes represent a diverse range of sport and some have competed against the best in the world to achieve their success. The Minister paid tribute to the athletes for all the hard work and dedication that they have given to their sports and wished each of them continued success in future competitions.
