Draft Strategy for Sport and Physical Recreation, 2007 – 2017

 

 

To promote and develop sport and physical recreation in Northern Ireland over the next 10 years

Policy sets out:

·        A 10 year vision for sport and physical recreation in Northern Ireland;

·        Government’s commitment;

·        Targets to be achieved;

·        Actions for achieveing the targets; and

Irish Language Legislation

Proposed legislation aims to enhance and promote the status of the Irish language in the provision of public services in Northern Ireland

Consultation on draft indicative clauses based mainly on a language scheme model, the creation of an Irish Language Commissioner, and provision for a person to use Irish in legal proceedings in courts and tribunals subject to the provision of notice and the interests of justice.  Deadline for responses 5.00pm Tuesday 5th June 2007.
